Claude Cowork plugins are customization packages that extend what Cowork can do. Each plugin bundles together domain knowledge, integrations with external services, slash commands, and specialized sub-agents into a single installable unit.
To install a plugin, open the Claude Desktop app, switch to the Cowork tab, click Customize in the left sidebar, and browse the available options. Plugins are available on all paid plans (Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise).

Open the Claude Desktop app, switch to the Cowork tab, and click Customize in the left sidebar. You can browse available plugins and install them with one click. Installed plugins take effect immediately in your next session.
Plugins are included with all paid Claude plans (Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise). There is no additional cost per plugin. You need an active paid subscription to access the Cowork tab and its plugin library.
Most plugins are built by Anthropic and carry an Anthropic-verified badge. Others come from third-party partners: Slack, Apollo, Common Room, Adobe, and ZoomInfo provide their own integration plugins, Brand Voice is built by Tribe AI, S&P Global by Kensho Technologies, and LSEG by LSEG. Most are Anthropic-verified, though some third-party plugins (such as ZoomInfo) appear in the directory without that badge.
The plugin library is built into the Claude Desktop app under the Cowork tab. You can also view individual plugin pages at claude.com/plugins. There is no separate app store. All plugins are distributed through Anthropic's official library.
It depends on your role. For general productivity, start with the Productivity plugin. Sales teams benefit most from the Sales and Apollo plugins. Engineers should try the Engineering plugin. Finance professionals should look at Financial Analysis as a foundation, then add specialized plugins like Equity Research or Private Equity.
Yes. Anthropic publishes the source code for core Cowork plugins at github.com/anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins under an Apache 2.0 license. You can use these as templates to build your own plugins. The Cowork Plugin Management plugin also lets you create custom plugins using MCP servers.
